On 1 July 2015 PD Dr Almut Bues gave a paper at a conference organised by the University of Vienna on the re-ordering of East Central Europe from 1515 to 1815: Die Neuordnung (Ostmittel-)Europas. Vom Wiener Fürstentag zum Wiener Kongress 1515–1815.

Her paper was on the role of women as agents of cultural transfer in East Central Europe was based on her research for Marrying Cultures and was called: Die Neuordnung Ostmitteleuropas und die Frauen. Kulturtransfer durch Heirat.
